The Chicago W Woman’s Aid has issued its new year book for 1913-1914. The Club, num bering nearly one thousand members, meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at Sinai Social Center, and devotes its interests to art, music, education, literature, civics and philanthropy. ‘The officers for this year are: Mrs. Moses L. Purvin, president; Mrs. Leo S Teller, first vice-president; Mrs. Benj. Auer bach, second vice-president; Mrs. A. J. Pflaum, recording secretary; Mrs. Maurice L. Ash, corresponding secretary; Mrs. Isaac Orschel, treasurer. At a meeting of the Blackstone Chapter of the Phi Delta Alpha Fraternity held at the Great Northern Hotel, Wednesday evening, September 10, the officers for the ensuing year were elected. The installation of the officers will take place within a few weeks at an in formal luncheon. The Phi Delta Alpha Fra ternity is composed of young Jewish men pro fessing the Jewish faith and engaged in the study and practice of the law, it being the only strictly Jewish legal fraternity in the United States. The Blackstone Chapter of the Fra ternity was chartered in 1910 and has steadily increased its membership, and now has on hand a large waiting list of applicants. Among some of the honorary members of the chapter are Israel Cowen, Hon. Phillip Stein, Hon. Hugo Pam, Abel Davis and Hon. Joseph Sa bath. The Ladies’ Auxiliary, C. O. C. E. (Con gregation Oh Chodesh Englewood) will give its ninth annual ball on Sunday, October 26, at the STyde Park Masonic Temple, Fifty-fist street and Michigan avenue. The annual af fairs of this society have always been a great success, both socially and financially, but the preparations this year give promise to an even greater success than ever before. The officers of the auxiliary are: President, Mrs. H. H. Bernstein; vice-president, Mrs. B. Balchow sky; treasurer, Mrs. S. Hirsch; recording sec retary, Mrs. J. Brin; financial secretary, Fan nie Manesovitch. The Kornell Social Klub have again re sumed their activities. The first regular meet ing of the season was held at the home of Miss Sadie Perlman, 4941 Vincennes avenue, Sunday evening, September 14. Sam Bloom was elected chairman of the entertainment committee, consisting of Miss Sophie Lip chultz, Miss Helen Reis and Miss Carrie linkelstein. The Hospital Aid Society will hold its first open meeting of the season at the Chicago Hebrew Institute, Sunday afternoon at 3 p. m. A very interesting afternoon is promised to the members and friends, as a program has been arranged. Hyde Park Chapter Order Eastern Star will give a public whist Saturday evening, October +, at the New Masonic Temple, Vifty-first and Michigan avenue, at 8 p.m. sharp. Beautiful prizes will be awarded. All are cordially in vited. ‘The Isaiah Sisters Lodge No. 10, I. O. T. S. of L., will give a whist and lotto in Room 913 Masonic Temple, Thursday, September 25, at 3 p.m. Beautiful prizes will be given to the lucky winners. All are invited to attend. Mr. and Mrs. I. Sachs of 5249 Calumet ave nue will be at home Sunday afternoon and evening, September 28, in honor of their daughter, Blanche, whose engagement to Harry S. Rubens has been recently announced.
