Tornado Does Damage.A tornado (something unusual in this state) struck the locality southwest of town Sunday at about 9 o’clock in the evening and done heavy damage to farmers in its way, leaving a trail of destruction. The funnel shape must have settled down at the Me naonite colony and scattered many grain and hay stacks. Moving in a northeast direction it struck the farms of Jos. Tupa and Matt Kortan about 5 miles s-w from town and made a mess of their stacks. Next it struck Matt Ptak's place and inflicted the most damage. The hen ccop and co n crib were torn from their foundations and carried about 300 feet, leaving a heap of debris of them, killing about 25 chickens that were in the coop. S x stacks of stacks were swept down; some s t afs were found 300 yards frim their flt; tmer place. On its way it done slight damage to several other fa m.rs among them J J Noll, who had to pick up bundles that constituted two stack before, and finally it landed in Tabor where it frightened the inhabitants and took the top of the Tabor Mill's chimney.Five grain stacks of John Vane cek and 8 stacks of John B. Schneider were distributed in the field.The cloud at first did not create I fright as :t was a small one and Mahout It the skies were clear. The winds blowing from it were follow ed by a heavy rain and hail which left many a broken window after them.
