The chief of police will hereafter l:e engaged in the exciting occupation of running down all resorts of the city that furnish any opportunity for trying a whirl at games of chance. More than this, the chief of police has been furnished with s. list of some of the places that are reputed to be harboring manipulators nf cards, diefe and such, uther equipment as is deemed' necessary for the tempter of fate.' The list of places mentioned includes some of the best known saloons in the t'Hy and covers a field that praotioally releases no saloon keener of the city fiom surveillance. In addition, a schedule for operation has been prepared for the chief that contains the names of all persons that have been indicted for gambling in Decatur during the last eighteen months.
