ROBERT WALTER KINGSLEY Peacefully on September 10, 1995 at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Robert Walter Kingsley aged 87 years of Eriksdale. Manitoba Robert (Bob) was born at Poplar Point, Manitoba on August 6, 1908. In 1912 he moved with his family to the MacRoss District, west of Eriksdale. In 1927 he and his brother William bought a farm by Pine Lake in the Clydebank District. On October 6, 1936 Bob married Ina Elizabeth Crozier. They lived on the Pine Lake quarter until 1944 when they moved to the present home farm a mile away. Here they raised their three children, Shirley, Glen and Ethel. He resided in his home until December of 1993 when he became a patient in the Briks dale Hospital. In the summer of 1994 he moved to the Briksdale Per sonal Care Home. Robert attended the MacRoss school for his education. His life was the farm and he enjoyed his cattle and horses. He spent 30 winters in his earlier years fishing on Lake Manitoba. He was involved with his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He served as Trustee on the Clydebank School Board and was also on the Clydebank United Church Board. He served as a Councillor for the R.M. of Eriksdale and was also a director of the Eriksdale Co-op. He is survived by his daughter Shirley Sigurdson and husband John of Winnipeg and their children Brent and Kim and family, Dawn and her son Erik, and Johnny, son Glen and his wife Donna of Eriksdale and their children Brian and Sandra; daughter Ethel Barton and hus band Dave of Winnipeg and their children Connie and Matthew; a sis ter Anne Pottinger and husband Roy; sisters-in-law Florence Kingsley, May Mortis (Kingsley), Mary Kingsley and Verna Crozier; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Ina in 1990, his father Albert and mother Margaret, brothers Cecil, John, William, Alex and Donald and brothers-in-law Leslie and Frank Crozier. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 1995 in the Brrksdale Recreation Centre, Rev. Susan Tough officiated. Robert's cremated remains were laid to rest at the Nord Cemtery. Anyone in attendance were considered honorary pallbearers. The family would like to bank the home care workers as well as Dr. Sharma and Dr. Burnet and all the staff and nurses of the Eriksdale Hospital and Care Home who looked after dad for the past few years.
