Carving A CourseSkate boards are “carving courses on hard surfaces all over town and in the enthusiastic hearts of our young people. Soon, hopefully within the next 4 months, says Eddie Vale, a Killeen businessman, a lot of the course carving will beat the RIP TIDE SKATE BOARD PARK to be buUt on West Trimmier at the Turkey Trot intersection, just south of the new Ellison High School. “We’ve taken a hard look at skate boarding. We're convinced it is a growingsport that is here to stay, says Vale. The challenge is to build a skate board park that maintains the freedom of the flow for all skill levels in the sport, provides safety features and supervision, and ties Killeen into nationwide skate boarding competition.Park developers have selected RIP TIDE for a name. The obvious reference to the sea stems from skate boarding similarites with surfing. The ocean tide is a visible feature of natural force and “moving on “to rip with the flow on flying wheels is becoming a force all its own.
