5 Syracusans to Be Pres ent as School Begins 70th Year Five Faculty Changes Maj. Nelson W. Walker Will Teach Military Sci ence and Tactics Col. Guido F. Verbeck, beginning this ninth year as headmaster and this 29th as a member of the faculty for the Maniius School, will greet 200 cadets, including 15 Syracusans, then that school opens for its 70th year Monday. Colonel Verbeck became headmaster in 1930, succeeding his father, the late Gen. William Verbeck, who, was president of the Manlius School for many years. Under the direction of , Colonel Verbeck and General Verbeck, ‘the B school has advanced to the front ranks of military secondary schools f and has repeatedly won honor rating for the United States War Depart ment.
