C., his parents Votii Aa*rew and Mary Ccdlier Baas, ant was a descendant of the Weldon family tor whom the town was tibmi A In '1006 he was married to Mary Ed na 'Y^ung. He was a Mason and a planner, having farmed extensively in the lower part of the county.He haves besides his widow, one son, Raymond Baas, four grand-daughter, a brother, W. G .Bass, all of Halifax .and four other brothers, J«men Bmb, of Baltimore, G. W., H. CH M :M. Bass, and a sister, Mrs. M. M. Borvlham of Richmond, Va., and Mrs. Geo. 3urnham of South Mills, Vir*fnia.The funeral services were held in the Baptist Church, of which he was a member, ty Rev, Jno. Kirk, assisted by Rev. S.
