Unveiling Will Be Rone by Mrs# A R* Derr; Set 1 P# X. as Timew«H-ofthUiofWJWLiIn the little village of Hope one of northern Idaho’s first settle* ments, in a district rich in early historical interest, a simple service will take place next Sunday at 1 p. m. The service will mark the unveiling of a monument to Xavid Thompson, geographer, explorer, and builder of Kullyspell House, the first building to be erected bywhite men within the state of^Idaho.The monument, erected between the state highway and the North* ern Pacific railway tracks almost directly in front of the Hope schoolhouse, will be about two miles distant from the spot where old Kullyspell House was built, and where nothing now remains but the crumbling ruins of the two great stone chimneys.Dedication of the memorial will mark the end of a several years' agitation for jits erection. Originally sponsored by the Pend d'Oreille Pioneer society, the Northern Pacific railway,and the Sand-polnt Kiwanis club both contributed funds to swell individual sub* scriptions. IVHList Prominent Speakers *Three prominent men* of the northwest will appear as speakers at the Sunday services. They will be Burton L. French, Moscow, Idaho congressman; C. E. Araey, Spokane, of the Northern Pacificrailway; and T. C. Elliott, his-torolan of Wall* Walla* Wash.The afctual unveiling of the monument will be done by Mrs. A. R.
