HASTINGS, Neb., Sept. 17.—Mike Dale, 145, of York, knocked out Owen Daley, 135, in the first round of their bout on the fifth program of the first day’s events at the state convention of the American Legion. Kid Worley got a technical knockout from Jimmie Dale of York. Wlaherty, of Sterling, Colo., won a referee’s decision in the seventh round when Dick Hopkins of Hastings was forced to retire be cause of a ruptured artery.
