Mrs. Nathaniel Hammond Is Dead.The funeral of Mrs. Nathaniel'Hammond, whose death occurredFriday, September 12, 1913, was held Monday forenoon at the Methodist church in this city, Rev. Turner having charge of the services. Burial was made in the Green Hill cemetery north of this place where her husband, who died in 1889, is buried.Hannah Church was born on the 29th day of July, 1825, in Genesee County New York, where she grew to womanhood. On May 15, 1833, she was united in marriage to Nathaniel Hammond, a sea captain, the young couple coming ^o Iowa that same year. They lived on a farm two miles south of Forest-ville until 1870, when they moved to this vicinity and where they have lived | ever since. To them were born nine children, five of whom are still living: Mrs. Emeline Watts of Nebraska; Mrs. Eliza Reed of Brook Park, Minnesota; Orrin Hammond of Weau-baux, Montana; Hiram P. Hammond, Wonowoc, Wisconsin, and Charles R. Hammond of this place. There is also one sister, Mrs. Mary Little, living in North Dakota, besides 25 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who are left to mourn her death.She was 88 years, 1 month and 14 days old at the time of her death.
