Obituary.John E. A men was born at. Mil ton» Columbia enmity, Pa., August t)lb, 1814 anil died at the homo of bis daughter, : Mrs. 15. K. Lira ley, near Kellogg, Iowa. August 1.9 th, 1890, aged 81 years and lfj days.Father An ten was twice married, the firsi time in 1839. Ot this marriage but one out of seven children, is living, A Ah An ten, of Eugene City, Oregon, lie\v;is married the second time on August 10th, 1862, to Sarah Winters, who survives him.His early life was passed in his native state. In 1886 lie moved to Knox county Ohio, where lie resided until 1864, when he came to Jasper county, Iowa, where he has lived ever since.*-Uncle John,” as he was familiarly known,-' was ail earn eat and consistent Christian, converted in 1858, and a member of the M. E. church until his , death, a loving and faithful husband .and father. A man who was respected wherever known. The highest eulogy we can give lum is that lie left an example of a useful life and a Christian death. Funeral services were held inthe Methodist Episcopal church of Kellogg at 8.30 p. m.t August 20th, concluded hy Rev. C. W. Shepherd, his jias^ tor, and attended by a full house. His remains were deposited iu the beautiful cemetery, near Kellogg, iu hopes of a glorious resurrection. He rests from Bis labors and his works do follow hi in. ^-Kellogg Enterprise.
