There is not a passenger train on theRock Island road on which a person re* siding fifty miles away can come withouttraveling in the * night time. There are three passenger trains each way every twenty-four hours, but these six trains pass through this city between -10.20 p, m. and 7 35 a. m., and all but one between 10,20 p m and 4 42 a m. It is'impractical to arrive in the city or county or depart from it on that road without going in the night. This is not as it should be by any manner of means, and it is time the people protested vigorously against such treatment by a road which they have helped to build and to which they have paid untold millions.
