Announcement was made by Fred Feegel, chairman of the War Bond Rally Committee, that the huge rally will be held on Monday evening, September 27, at 8 o’clock, in the auditorium of East Hampton High School. Barry Wood of East Haddam, nationally known radio singer, has consented to act as master of cere monies at the rally, and Mr. Feegel was still busy this week rounding up a diversified program of enter tainers to assist Mr. Wood in‘ pre senting the finest show of its kind ever staged in the community. A record attendance is anticipated. Plans for the women’s part in the War Bond drive were discussed at length at a meeting held at the East Hampton Branch of the Hart ford-Connecticut Trust Company Friday afternoon. Present were Mr. Trepp, Mrs. Abner G. Bevin, chair man of the women’s committee, Mrs. Leon J. Voisin, Miss Maureen Wall, Mrs. Donald A. Laird, Mrs. Soreff, Mrs. Sol Adler, Mrs. Nor man H. Gardner, Mrs. Arch F. Rakatzky, Harold Bransfield, and Albert T. Ellis. Announcement was made last week that Mrs. Laird has been ap pointed chairman of the Middle Haddam canvass, and Mrs. Adler of the Cobalt canvass. Irving H. Batterson has been ap pointed chairman of a special com mittee to solicit donations from lo cal business men, to be auctioned at the rally; and Robert Schlag of Middle Haddam has been added to the general committee. Conducting the house-to-house canvass are the following: Miss Theresa M. Valli, Smith Street, Edgerton Street, Walnut Avenue, Colchester Avenue, Tartia, Watrous Street and the east side of Main Street to Camp Wopowog. F.
