LONG BEACH, Sept. 17—The replacing of the Long Beach Ala mitos bay line of the Pacific Elec tric railroad by a bus line when the new railway to Seal Beach is constructed by way of West Na ples is under consideration, ac cording to a statement made by Councilman Fillmore Condit. This would mean the paving of Ocean boulevard, and its widening within Alamitos bay. The bus line would be operated by the rail road company, and would connect with the Seal Beach-Newport trains at Second street. This possibility was discussed at a recent conference between City Manager Windham, Council man Condit and owners of beach lots at Belmont. With the exception of the Mark well interests, owners between Belmont pier and Termino ave nue have agreed to deed certain frontage to the city, provided the city vacate twenty feet along the south line of Allin street. This would be equivalent to moving the lots back twenty feet from the sea, the city obtaining the strip along the south front of the lots. Allin street is not needed as a main thoroughfare, Condit says, and this is especially true if Ocean boulevard is improved as proposed. For a further and more definite study of the proposal to permit owners east of Termino avenue to retain lots of 100-feet depth south of Ocean boulevard, it was agreed that the city engineer set stakes and prepare a map showing these lines. The city has not agreed to assume any obligation for the im provement of the frontage south of the 100-foot strip, although cer tain owners believe that if a walk is ever built there, the city should pay for it. Others object to a walk, considering the land of chief value.
