Becker, Monroe, who may run .for governor on a La Follette peace platform, held a conference in Milwaukee last week at which P. J. Ziscli acted as chairman,and William Langen, one of the People’s Peace council committeemen, wassecretary. Judge Becker indorsed thestand of Senator La Follette on the war. Months ago he backed a movement in Monroe for a referendum on the war. It is said that his friends will try to interest the La Follette organization in his candidacy. Judge Becker was a candidate for circuit judge at the time that Judge Grimm was elected. If memory serves us rightly he was a member of the democratic party then.-o-
