H.McDonald, returned home Sunday.President Harri on arrivod Sat*urday afternoon by a special train on the Chateaugay railroad. Bewas accompanied by A. L. Inman,general manager of the Chateaugay Ore A Iron Co,; J. H. Myers, ofPlattsburgh, and private Secretary Halford. The train was stopped at the mines crossing, and from the rear platform Mr. Inman in trod uc* the president to those who had gathered to great him. The chief magistrate made a neat speech, alluding to the benefits of citizenship id the United States, where there are no taxes for the supportof royalty, and where all oon enjoy blessings of free schools andthefree speech. Rev. Stanton P. Allen,pastor of the M. E. church, responded in behalf of the citizens of Lyon Mountain, and welcomed the president to our village. Mr. Allen handed the iistingui bed visitor a sample of the Chateaugay ore just brought to the surface from a pile 1,200 feet beneath the spot where the train was standing. Three cheers were given and train rolled on. Mr. ana Mrs. Alien and Mrs,A.
