The person must be ap-In other Lunas Board of Education approved the sale of land belonging to the school system to the village of Los Lunas.The land, .409 acres, is directly behind the Los Lunas firehouse and the city hall. The city wants to use the land to extend the village hall in the southern direction.The board also passed a resolution to delete all stolen items, items beyond repair, items lost and cannot be located and items which have been traded in from their inventory. This must be done yearly in order to keep the records in order.Thomas Payton, Los Lunas High School principal, was appointed by the board to represent Los Lunas on the New Mexico Activities Association.Supt. Baca asked the board that the repairs being made to a portable building located at the Los Lunas elementary school be made with local materials. The portable building consists of two classrooms.A roof on one of the classrooms fell in about two years ago. The second classroom is being used now by the elementary band.Approval was given by the board to have the work done with local materials.During a discussion of insurance rates paid by the school district, RayGabaldon, Los Lunas assistant superintendent, said the total insurance coverage for the district is three-and-a half million dollars.Milk for the schools will be supplied by Cream land Dairies Inc. of Albuquerque as per the contract approved by the board at the meeting.There is a $4,000 increase in the school board budget due to the federal government giving the state money tocreate jobs for unemployed people.The money will be used toproved by the board.The board also approved Supt. Baca’s request to call for a second bid on gasoline for school buses. The present contract for gas supplies continues through Sept. 31.H. C. Simpson of the Hub Oil Co. which now supplies the school buses said at the meeting, “We have taken, ourselves, a half-cent increase in gasoline since we bid last year. When we started 10 or 15 years ago, we saved the school $3,000 dollars a year. Surely now with inflation we should be saving the board now.”The const ruction report given by Supt. Baca included the fact that the five portable buildings have been delayed until Sept. 20 or Sept. 27.
