William Riley Bales Passed AwayWilliam Riley Bales, 79 years old, passed away Saturday at lii3 home in Purdin, Missouri, after an illness of two years. He was born July 17, 1861, near Mun'ce, Indiana, a son of Daniel and Levina Bales. In 1866 the family moved to Sullivan County, Mis souri, settling near old Lindley. There he grew to manhood and on January 4, 1891, was united in marriage with Mary Louise D.ar-ing, who survives. Three children were born to this union, two surviving, Mrs. Zura Downing Banner of Brookfield and Mrs. Eunice Blackburn of Long Beach, California. A son, W. R., Jr.. died in infancy. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Purdin, conducted by the pastor, Rev. E. M. Hines. Burial was made in the Purdin cemetery.
