In the football world, Len Pye, for the third year, has ibeen presented with the medal for the fairest and best player in the Hobart League. This distinction is only enjoyed by a few. EHis Matheson, son of Mr G. Mathe-son, ex-Warden of Netw Norfolk, excelled himself in Hobart cricket, and was presented with a medal for the best all-round cricketer of the City teams.Competing in the eighth scries of the amateur hour from 7iIT, Mr It. Smith, of New Norfolk, was awarded first price, £1 Is. So New Norfolk has honors in more ways than one, and now we have blossomed out into the entertaining world. Mr Smith’s success was in a vocal number, “When Irish Eyes are Smiling.” Although our badminton and golf players have not shown anything outstanding, some fine performances have been registered locally.Preparations for the coming cricket season are being made, and the annual meeting is to be held shortly. The new cricket oval at Lachlan Park hospital is being constructed, but unfortunately will not be ready for the opening of the season.Bowlers- are showing signs of activity. The green is in good order, and will he ready for play 'about the second week in October. The club conducted an old-time dance, which was a great success.
