One of the Be*t-Kn«m»i pioneers of the Coaot Passes Away.Seattle, Sept. 0.—Hon. H. F. Smith, better known as Okanogan Smith, a member of the legislature of Okanogan county and one of the best-known pioneers on the coast, died at the Diller hotel, this city, tonight. He was taken sick with dysentery while here on a visit, and for three months has been steadily failing.He came to California in 1846 and was the first settler in the Okanogan ■ country In 1860. He has a farm of several hundred acres, said to be the finest in the state. His estate is valued at 1250,000.
