The Cumberland*.Bertha M. Cumberland of township 141, range 79, proved up on her homestead yesterday. She settled on it in 1882 and lias been there continuously barring the temporary absences while teaching school In the neighborhood. She has, in common with her two sisters and mother, occunled one house buiit in the center of the section, each claiming and Imnroviuga quarter section. They are all acting In excellent faith and are making homes for life. If this(Ian of living nearer together was followed y farmers generally the isolated life would not be what it Is.
