We wrote out an account of the big Douglass and Dalzell meeting at Plainfield, but it was crowded out with other matter last week. We simply say this week that it was a monster meeting, and our friends in Guilford township did nobly. The members of the Friends church honored themselves by opening their large building to the old gray headed war horse of freedon, the noble rep resentative of a degraded race, the Hon. Frederick Douglass. The old soldier was too hoarse to speak much but his mere presence, as he stood before that audience of 3000, was a greater eloquence than words. God bless the old man and smooth his passage to the tomb. His life has been an epic, and many of his race yet unborn will rise up to call him blessed.
