Garden Grove was ranked No. 6 in the Sept. 6GIF Division 8 poll.“The kids played great, Woodbridge Coach Rick Gibson said. “This is what we want to do. We just try and get better even’ week. Woodbridge, which hadbeen rotating quarterbacks in its First two games, stuck to one on Friday night and it paid off.Senior Spencer Weston completed 18 of 26 passes for 208 yards and onetouchdown, Weston, whowas able to roll out and get out of the pocket for most of his throws, connected on his first nine passes.“1 knew I was the guy and I was definitely readv for this game,” Weston said.Wow is the right word,” Gibson said of Weston’s performance.“He had probably played a grand total of two quarters as a varsity quarterback.’’ Gibson said. “We simplified things and he did a lot of film work this weekto get ready. Three plays later, McBride spun to his left into the end zone for the score.After Woodbridge’s defense forced Garden Grove to punt, the Warriors went down the field for another score.Weston made plays on his first two throws of thedrive, finding Ledoux for a 17-yard completion and then Ledoux again for 30-vard reception to the 2-yard line.McBride barreled in from 2 yards out two plays later to help give Woodbridge a 14-0 lead.Garden Grove scored on its third possession. TheArgonauts went on a nine-plav, 65-yard drive, which featured all runs.Joseph Camarillo scored on a 5-vard run.
