Mrs. H. Ellis of this city just recently received from her son, Pvt. George H. Ellis, a Purple Heart, awarded to him for ex traordinary service and wounds received on the 20th of July, this year. In the establishment of the beachhead in Normandy, France. On that day a piece of shrapnel entered his ankle, and he was transferred to England for treat ment, being in the hospital for Bix we Pvt. Ellis, now only 21 years of age, has seen more than three years of service, volunteering for enlistment the first week after he reached his eighteenth birthday, in February, 1941 through Camp Robinson, Ark. He spent three years at San Diego, Calif. Pvt. Ellis is well known here, attending the local high school, Pvt, GEO, H, ELLIS
