Each get the trip to Purdue, donated by the First National Bank of Covington.Calf raising: Cooper Kerr, Richland;Clyde Palmer, Millcreek; Glen wood Mad*%den, Fulton; Vernis Clore, Van Buren-They ail get the trip to Purdue, donated by the Citizens Bank of Covington.Domestic Science: Vera Howard, Van Buren; Bemis Witt, Richland; Iva Brown, Cain; Elizabeth Myers, Millcreek; Sera*phine DeSutter, Logan. They also get the Purdue trip, donated by the Covington Fair Association.Where they had no competition in their own townships, sweepstakes winners were given the Purdue trip in addition to Washington trip.The ExhibitsThe exhibits of the county boys and girls clubs completely filled the 50x80 foot tent provided bv the fair association and included 40 pigs, 4 calves, 20 pens of poultry, 5 pecks of potatoes, 1 exhibit of mangoes, 2 exhibits of beets and 13 exhibits of domestic science club.A number of these exhibits were entered for premiums in the open class at the fair, and the following premiums earned: 6 firsts on pigs, 6 seconds on pigs, 1 sweepstakes on pigs, 1 first on chickens, 1 second on chickens, 1 second on shorthorn bull, 1 second on potatoes, and 1 first on collection of native woods. Thetotal value of these premiums was aboutthirty dollars. Had the domestic science exhibits been entered for cash premiums in the open class at the fair, Mr. Rosencrans said the girls would have realized a considerable sum in premiums.
