School opened last Tuesday morn ing with a good increase in attend ance. Fifty more pupils were en rolled than the first week last year. Teachers and pupils are looking forward to the time when they can move into the new building. The new course of studyin the high school is proving to be popular as the increase in attendance shows. The beginning of Centralization of schooly in this section was seen laxt week when the pupils of a dstrict No. 8 Gilford township were brought to our school in a large covered wagon. First grade, first divsion, Miss Dora Wenger teacher, pupils 28. First grade, second division, Miss Ruth Adar teacher, pupils 25. Second grade,Miss Blanche Hoov er teacher, pupils 57. Third grade, Miss Eva Shetler teacher, pupils 43. Fourth grade, Miss Ida Portz teacher, pupils 41. Fifth grade, Miss Esther Weckes ser teacher, pupils 31. Sixth and seventh grades, Miss Alta Collier teacher, pupils 49. Eighth grade and High School, Mr. Porter Principal, 58. Miss American Assistant Prncipal. Music Instructor, Mr. Thomas. co. W. Clouse local superintend ent. , There are 171 boys enrolled and 161 girls. Total enrollment, first week 332. The Second Annual School Fair will be held October 1st. Although the available space in the building is limited, yet we want to make this a community affair and ask all our people to participate. Frday afternoon at 3:30 on the school grounds will be a kite flying contest Our boys have shown much interest on this sport this summer and now they can complete for honors The public is invited.
