The New Haven Middle School opened its doors at the beginning of a new school year for the first time ever Monday as stu dents ended their sum mer vacation. The new $4 million school is ex pected to serve 1,200 stu dents in the fourth through eighth grade. Parents and students got a guided tour of the new ly completed facility on Hop Ranch Road in Un ion City on Saturday. The building has an open, airy feeling about it and features carpeted study areas, right, and a fire place in the media cen ter, above, where Jim and 10-year-old David Wilkins are chatting. Construction on the school began in Febru ary 1976. Architects were Porter-Jensen- Hansen-Manzagol of Santa Clara.
