The weather was bad but there were more babies and grandparents than ever before at the annual pretty baby contest held Friday in conjunction with the Dawson County Fair. Sponsored by Powell Jewelry, the event attract ed around 90 contestants and three times as many parents and grandparents. Gift certificates were also presented to the winners by the Lamesa Cotton Growers in recognition of their use of cotton and natural blend apparel. Winners were Angela Wright and David Reed in the up to six months category; Michelle Ho ward and Brandon Eggar in the six months to one year category; Misti Brown and Matthew Neighbors in the one to two years category; Love lia Ann Villarreal and Jimmy Addison in the 23 years old category and Brant and Brien Stewart and Brett and Chett Woodul in the twins category. Other contestants in the up to six months class were (girls) Anissa Mar ion Craven, Erica Marina Alonzo, Regina Dawn Barrow, Pamela Brooks, Tabitha Grigg, Jan’nne Sue Barron, Shawna Ren ne Tate, Greta Jean Tyra, Tobi White, Stacy Scott and Nancy Stafford; (boys) Chad Huddle, Der rick Toon, Robert Paul Hemphill, Jay Dunbar and Chip Seago. In the six months to one year category, contestants included (girls) Mindy Sheree Davis, Kasey Le’ Ann Beam, Michelle And erson, Kristi Hendon, Michelle Reeves, Andrea Scott, Cynthia Shockley, D’Lynn Culp, Kathy Kay Morrison and Veronica Lemon (boys) Quinton Kearney, Scotty Bill Grif fin, Bryant Seely, Louis Addison, Chad Wagner, Martin Losoya, Bryan Lee Shook, Chad Bullard and Courtney Brown. One to two year old contestants included (girls) Julie Farris, Juli ette Valencia, Kristi And erson, Kimberly Roger, Kathy Latham, Mindy Lynn Ballard, Rebecca Reed, Odessa Marie Ed wards, Misty Nelson, Mitzi Shaw, Shanna Tom linson, Sherry Norton, Tasha Hawkins, Jennifer Watkins, Chasiiy Haw kins, Stephanie Smith and Amber Vaughn, (boys) Micheal Ward, Kirk Jones, Michael Wil cox, Keith Bilberry, David Rawlings, Thomas Shawn Branon, John Simon Gon zales, Michael Shane Bearden, Bryan Palmer, Shawn Scott, Burton Thornton, Cody Fuller and Kenneth Rodriguez. In the two to three year old event, contestants were: (girls) Lisa Flower, Kendra Williams, Rebeca Contreras, Monica Diane Baker, Crystal Dunbar, Rachel Losoya, Rosita Contreras and Shelly Smith; (boys) Lance Norton, Jay Dee Aten, Joseph McGuire, Shawn Edwards, Pank Grigg, Stevie Scott, Neal Mayfield, Jamie Seago, Jonathan Lentz and John L.
