Bottom of a Woman’s Pajamas Tied Tightly Around New-Born Baby’s Neck, Causing Strangulation, Deputy Coroner, Dr. Fred J. Phillips, Found New Hope, Sept. 14 A newly born, white, female infant was found dead in a suitcase in Primrose creek, just North of Phillips Mill, along the River rd., about 1 o'clock yesterday. Mrs. Walter Miller, New Hope, RD., whose husband had stopped the car because of motor trouble, saw the suitcase lying in the stream which is a small creek just slightly North of Phillips Mill, where the art exhibitions are held, State Police from the Doylestown‘ aub station investigated and Dr Fred J. Phillips, of Quakertown, Deputy Coroner, who was called to aid in the investigation, said the child is from seven to 10 days old. It was perfectly developed. The baby was found in a suit case which had been placed inside of another suitcase. Around the baby's neck and over its face were tied tightly the lower portions of a woman’s pajamas. Dr. Phillips said the child died from suffoca tion. The suitcase could easily be seen from the river road andgwo efforts, apparently, were made to hide it from the view of vehicular traffic which uses the river road. The suit case was near the small, stone bridge over the creek. When Mrs. Miller saw the suit case she called for her husband who went down the creek bank and recovered it. They immediately notified the State Police and Cpl Harold Dando and Trooper James J. Shovelin made the investigation The body has been removed to the mov ue of William C. Varcoe, Wy combe. The investigation is still being carried on by the State Po lice.
