Baltimore Giants Tie With GraysWashington, D. C. (NNPA) — Superb relief pitching' by William Barnes of the Baltimore Elite Giants and ‘Frank Thompson of the Washington Homestead Grays carried these two teams to an 11-inning, 7-7 tie, in Griffith Stadium Labor Day nifeht. Earlier, the Grays defeated the Elites 6-1, in Baltimore.In the night game, the Elite Giants got a pair of runs off Gene Smith in each of the first three frames. Thompson took over andafter the fifth, when the visitorsscored a lone tally, he held the Elites in check.In the meanwhile, the Grays solved Lefty Romby, getting four runs in the sixth after having made two runs in the first inning and one in the fourth.Gibson led the Gray’s attack with four hits in five appearances.
