U.S.Caplurcs II-Boat Chief Who Sank the Ark RoyalWASHINGTON. Sept. 13 (API—The commander of the U-boat which sank the British ai rcraft-can ier Ark Royal has been captured off Brazil, the Navy Department announced today.He is Capt. Friedrich Guggenberger, who was decorated by the German government for the torpedoing of the carrier neat Gibraltar on the night of Nov. 13-14, 1941. He was taken prisoner after a U.S. patrol plane had recently destroyed a German submarine off the coast of Brazil.
