Sept. 14.—County officials are conducting a vigorous Investigation concerning the lynching of Lawson Patton, negro, who attacked and then murdered a Mrs. Mullen of this city. Ex-Senator W. V. Sullivan of Mississippi, who made a speech demanding Immediate execution of the negro, may possibly be indicted*
