ANOTHEB MURDER IN LONDON.THE NINTH ATROCITY. WORSE THAN THE REST.iFrom out own Correspondent. JLondon, September 10.Another atrocious murder, the ninth of the series, was committed early this morn* Ing In Whitechapel. The features down to the smallest detail are analogous to those which have marked the previous crimes attributed to 11 Jack the Ripper. At 5 o'clock this morning a constable |atrolling Backcharch-lane, leading from the Commercial-road East, found the body of a woman covered with blood and horribly mutilated*The thoroughfare rum parallel with Berner-street, the scene of the murder of Elizabeth Stride, which took place a few days short of twelve months ago, and Iras the fifth crime In the category. The constable ran to Leman-streetKlloe-station, soaroely a atones throwim where the body was found, and the alarm was at once given to the neighbor* Ing stations.Within] a few minutes a large body of Constables were massed on the spot, and » cordon was made, enclosing a radius of a quarter of a mile. The streets were for some time closed to traffic, and detectives were distributed throughout the district. The search though vigorously prosecuted was unavailing, and no vestige of the murderer was discovered. The locality la not far distant from the London docks, where the polloe belonging to the Leman-street radius have been employed for some Hiwa past In looking after the Strikers. This withdrawal of the police from ihelr proper beats greatly diminished the chances of capturing the murderer. By bis skilful escape the miscreant has given farther proof of his Intimate knowledge of the locality and of the polloe movements. Owing to the congregation of polloe at the docks it Is considered Im-rbable that he lied in that direction as was supposed to have done after his last murder in Caatle-alley.The victim belonged, as in former cases, lo the unfortunate class, but she Is other* wise unknown. Her age Is said to be 30*The body was frightfully mutilated. The arms and head were completely severed and were lying some distance from the trunk. The abdomen was gashed In an unexampled manner. The body appears to have been sarglcally dissected and parts are missing.London, September 1LThe dreadful murder committed in Whitechapel has produced a state of panic In the Esst-End, and there Is a general agreement that the murderer is Identical with the miscreant who establlahed a reign of terror In the same part of the metropolis about this time last year. The body appears to have been carved with the skill of a surgeon, and it tarns oat that both legs as well as the arm* and bead were completely severed from the trunk. The mangled remains are lying at the morgue awaiting Identification. The following are the dates of the previous crimes and names of the victims :Christmas week, 1887—An unknown woman fonnd murdered near Osborne and Wentworth streets, Whitechapel.August 7, 1888 -Martha Turner, found ■tabbed In 39 pUces, on a landing In model dwellings, known as George Yard Buildings,Commercial-street, Spltaifields.August 31—Mrs. Nlcholls, murdered and mutilated In Buck’s-row, White* chapel.ft September 7—Mrs. Chapman, murdered and mutilated in Hanbory-abreet, Whitechapel..
