Intel.At a meeting of the freeholders of Fairfax,held at the court-house, in pursuance oi general notice and in compliance with the invitation of their fellow-ci'izens of Loudoun, Col. James Coleman, senior magistrate of the county, was called to the chair. The objects of the meeting being stated in a concise address by Richard Bland Lee, Esq. a committee was appointed to draw resolutions for the consideration of the assembly. Their report was adopted, as follows :Whereas in the opinion of this meeting the present perilous and alarming condition of our country, when an unnecessary and wasting war lias been declared by the government ot tbe United States against the only power who is able to inflict serious injuries on us, with whom and her allies of .Spain and Portugal, we might have enjoyed the most beneficial and useful commerce ; it is necessary for the good people ofthis commonwealth to resort to the permanent eonuoul which they possess over their riders, whose weakness, want ot foresight and firmness, have brought on this once happy land its present calamities—R solved, That we dread the present war, as tending necessarily to produce an alliance with the Emperor of the French ; un alliance which the lute of every other nation has proved to be the sure precurser ol unconditional submission.That we dread as its worst and very probable consequence, a severance oi the Union;
