Preliminary Hearing For Moore StartsThe preliminary hearing fori Millard Moore, 918 Kearney, | charged with first degree murder; of his wife, began today in County! Court. '|Moore was charged with first1 degree murder August 11 by the: county district attorney’s office.Moore is charged with shooting! his wife with a .410 guage shotgun following an hour long argu-j ment which started around 5 a.: m. August 11. ;After the shooting the local gro* cer entered his grocery store,1 Moore’s Star Market, and cut off: both of his hands with a power meat saw.According to a statement made by Dr. Philip Hostetter, Riley County Coroner, the argument between Moore and his wife center-ed around Moore’s drinking.After cutting his hands off Mooreleft the Market and tried to enter his house, but was unable to open the door and fell in the yard. Moore was found by a delivery-man and taken to Riley County Hospital for treatment.Since recovering from the self-inflicted injury, Moore has been moved from Riley County Hospital to a local rest home where he is under 24 hour guard.
