Please allow me a little space in your valuable paper that may give a few incidents of my life. The firet took place when I was born in Sept. 7, 15825, 53 years ago this week on Thursday sept. 7, that will be my birthday. The second incident took place about 22 years later when I was born again, born of the spirit. Jesus said to Nikodemus “Marvel not that I say unto you, ye must be born again. The wind bioweth where it listeth, thou heareth the sound thereof, canst not tell where it cometh or whither it goeth, sis every one that is born of the spirit.” ‘That is the great essential event having the power of the life that now is and of that which is to come. Some may question this spiritual birth but I can testify to the truth of it. If any man is in Christ Jesus he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Behold all things are new. It was so with me. When I was born in a humble room in an old store all alone with Jesus and the spirit of God it was a happy event. The third event took place Sept. 2, 1851 when I was united in holy wedlock with the girl of my choice, Miss Mary Williams of Rem son, Oneida county, N. Y. To us were born 7 children all living but one, the first. The fourth event took place last Saturday Sept 2, when my children and grandchildren and great grandchildren gathered to celebrate our 60th wedding anniversary. We had a royal good time. Jennie, our daughter, made the goodies and Jennie our granddaughter made the cake and it was as fine and sweet as the maker of it. There was enough for all and a lot left for a day or two or more.They all left feeling better for the gathering and went to their several places of abode rejoicing that we are all living. Yet there were 5 children, two with their wives. There were 7 grandchildren, two with their wives, 2 great grandchildren. JOSIAH JONES. Aiden, Sept. 4, 1911.
