WHO GRADUATED AT ANNAPOLIS NAVAL ACADEMY, AMONG THE LEADERS. Annapolis, Sept. 12.-The order of scholastic merit of the members of the section of the first class, which grad uated today, has been made public. Of the eighty-six graduates, thirteen qualified as “star” graduates, receiv ing 85 per cent or better as a mark for the whole course. All the mem bers of the section received 80 per cent or better for the special course during the term just passed. First honors were won by Gardner L. Caskey, of Detroit, Mich., whose graduating multiple, 6 910, of a pos sible 672, is considerably above that of any other member of the section. Second honors are won by Jonh B. Rhodes, of West Chester, Pa, a young man who is conceded to have one of the brightest minds of any graduate of the academy. His work for the present term exceeds that of any member of the class. His per centage was 602.67. Philip G. Lauman, of Des Moines, Iowa, is third honor man. He is an athlete, and holds the academy record in the high jump. He managed the fencing and field and track athletics at the academy during the last season The fifth honor man is Arthur W Frank, of Mobile, Ala. whose grad uating percentage was 58.36 Arthur Frank is the youngest son of Mrs. Margaret Frank, of this city, and ever since he left Mobile and entered the naval school he has made a name for himself, at all times standing at the top of his class. He has hundreds of friends who extend congratulations.
