Mr. Green offered a series of resolutions relative to the missionary cause,, and made some remarks sustaining them. He thought sufficient interest was not felt in the cause of missions. The money and time bestowed by the patrons had been merely what re- was convenient* Whilst this course was pursued the efficacy of tho missionary cause would be much retarded. ; | ;Henry Perkins, of Philadelphia, said he Had'no doubt the Missionary cause would go on. Christ would take care of it—but the question for the Board to consider was, are they willing to be co-w6ikcrs with him. What do we.see (said Mr. Perkins) when we look around upon the world—the doors open for oiir Missionaries to enter, except the little Island of Madagascar. But unless a stronger effort was made than had been, Christ would select others to do his work.Rev. Dr. Hooker said he rejoiced to see this subject net I a. ted. He had preached on the subject to his congregation in Vermont, and illustrated it with a | map of the world, drawn by hiuiself, and shaded in m ' those parts yet in heathenish darkness. .
