HONORS FOR CHARLES RAMPWord has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Horace Ramp from their son, Charles, saying that he has been promoted to the rank of sergeant 1st class. This grade pays him $51.00 a month. At present he is stationed at Camp Dodge, Iowa, in the finance department of the sub-depot quartermaster corps.GERMAN HELMETS HEREOn Tuesday afternoon Mrs. T. R. Egerton received a heavy package bearing a foreign postmark. Had not the address been in her husband’s handwriting she might have feared to open it. Upon opening it she found two German helmets very much battered up and bullet pierced. On the inside were smears of blood. Lieutenant Egerton picked them up on the battlefield and sent them home as souvenirs They are certainly curiosities.
