JDREDGING MACHINE.The Kegister and Leader has printed euts showing the dredging and tiling machines which are in operation in Northern .Kossuth, made from photographs taken by C. E. Anderson of Swea City. That paper says:An undertaking, which would be colossal in magnitude-were it not for the aid of the giant dredging and tiling machines used in accomplishing it,1 is the digging of the big drainage ditch in Kossuth county, which when accomplished will be the means of furnishing drainage outlets and reclaiming 100,000 acres of iadd now subject to overflow.The accompanying photographs show the dredging and tiling machines in operation on Drainage District No. 3 in Kossuth county. The dredging machine is owned and operated by Alva Hunt, who has the contract for excavating over 27 miles, and has already completed about three miles of the ditch. At the point where this picture was taken the ditch is thirty-two feet wide on top, fourteen feet at the bottom, eight feet deep.The photograph of the tiling machine was taken while it was in operation on section 36, township 100, range 30. It is owned and operated by James Warrick of Bancroft, who has the contract for putting in the tile drains of District No. 3, Surveyor Lilly and bis force of helpers are at work on Drainage District No. 4. -
