4 Fires Practice ply Extinguished and Military on Guard St. Petersburg, September 12 (3:43 p aem. Tuesday.) A dispatch to the @aucasur Ol] company from Baku says that the fires in the oil fields are prac tically exhausted and that the military authorities are stationing guards In the district. During the night, the dispatch says, incendiaries tried to land at Biblebat from small boats, but were driven off by volleys from the Cossacks. Thor then attacked steamers in which the employer of two oil companies had taken refuge during the uprising but the attack was repulsed. The incendiaries succeeded in set ting fire to three machine shops in the Volshkin district, kiling the pro prietor of one. In the “Black ™ Town district the patrol fired a goley into a crowd of Russian workmen from which a shot was supposed to have been fired, but the dispatch to the Caucasus Oil com pany expressly stated that no one was killed? Throughout the “Black Town” district the pastors are acting energet ically in suppressing disorders.
