DIED.The sad news reached Willmar the first of the week of the death of Mrs. Ellen Canfield, wife of L. A. Canfield, which occurred in Minneapolis Saturday night, The deceased had undergone an operation at Asbury hospital, which was performed on Thursday. The patient seemed to rally and it was apparently a successful operation, but blood poisoning set in and the end came at 8:40 on Saturday evening. The deceased had been in poor health for some time and had consulted various physicians. Her health gradually grew worse and acting upon the advise of physicians she left here for the cities to seek relief by undergoing the operation. The disease was of such a nature that it resulted in paralysis of the bowels.Deceased was 44 years of age. She leaves a family of four children by Mr. Canfield’s first wife, also an aged father, mother and brother residing at Royalton and two brothers, Messrs. W, J. and M. L. Doble, and sister Lillian residing at Wiilmar. The sympathy of the community goes out to the grief-stricken husband and relatives in their bereavement.The remains were sent to Bird Island, the former home of the family.The funeral was held on Tuesday at 1 p. m., and the interment took place in the family burial lot.
