Flying Disc Is Reported in Howard(Courttr Mpeoial Bervic$)Cresco, la. — The first report of a flying saucer in the Cresco vicinity comes from John Steffen, farmer living four and one-half miles northeast of here.Steffen said as he was leaving one of his barns he saw the brilliant disc-like object sailing eastward. It was flying low, had the appearance of a silver colored saucer and was approximately 10 feet in diameter.Steffen said that the “saucer” was almost noiseless. He judged its speed at about 100 miles per hour, *Steffen also said, “I had never taken much stock in the flying saucers but now I am convinced.”
