ANTON TURCHI PASSES AWAY ON WEDNESDAYSpring Valley Resident For Many Years Dies After Long IllnessAnton Turchi, age 50, a Spring Valley resident for many years, passed away at St. Margaret’s hospital at 3:45 o’clock Wednesday morning. He had been in poor health for several years and in recent months his condition had become so serious as to necessitate hospitalization.Mr. Turchi was bom in Italy on April 14, 1891, and came to the United States and Spring Valley with his parents at the age of six. He was a coal miner during his active days and was employed at the Union Coal company mine in Peru until this spring, when illness forced him to re-| aign.In 1912 he was married to Sadie Artone who passed away in 1918. On May 23, 1936, he married Mrs. Theresa Bernabei.Surviving are his wTidow and three children, Primo Turchi, who is a sergeant at Kelly Field, Texas; Mrs. Olga Fusinatto and Mrs. Evelyn Nar-cheski, of Spring Valley; three stepchildren, Bruno Bernabei, of Amboy; Frances, at home, and Mrs. Clarence (Anne) Loebach, of Spring Valley, his father, Theodore Turchi, of Spring Valley; a brother, Amos, of De Pue. Two grandchildren also survive. His mother died three years ago.The funeral will be held from the residence at 106 West Iowa street at 2:30 o’clock Saturday afternoon. Services will be held in St. Anthony’s Catholic church at 3 o’clock with Rev. Nicholas Blanc in charge. Burial will be in the SS. Peter and Paul cemetery.
