Wisener, son of John- fcathan and Polly Boling Wisener i was born iD Clay county, Indiana fApril 22nd 1845, departed this clife at his home in Farmersburg, ^ Indiana, Sept. 4th, 1919, age 74 e yrs. 4 mon. and 13 days; he was e united in marriage to Caroline t White Sept. 26th, 1878; to this t union was born two sons and onedaughter in the order named: ]Zora E., Oscar and Guthrie H,|L Oscar dieing in 1903; Zora E. E| February 12th, 1919.\IreiccDr. Guthrie H. Wisener, ofRichmond, Indiana and his wife s^|Mrs. Caroline Wisener, of Farmersburg survive him.December 14, 1861 he enlisted * in Company A, 51st Indiana, t Infantry when but 16 yrs. of age t and served in this regiment for ] the period of three years.He participated in several engagements and was severely * wounded in the battle of Stone 1 river, after the battle he fellreerreas.in to^ j into the hands of the Confeder-.,tieerAChedii-sstinnate army and was taken care of by a private family who lived in that vicinity.Prior to the war he lived near Harmony, Clay County, Indiana, later coming to Fairbanks township, where he purchased a farm and for many years was one of Sullivan Counties successful farmers.About 13 years ago he movedwith his family to Farmersburg, Indiana where he has since re-Psided. He was a member of Gaskins Post No. 564 Department of Indiana G. A. R. he served as Commander of this for|Post until failing health prevented him from taking active part and was senior Vice Commander at the time of his death. He was a member of the M. .E.edOtisurrs-■eeinsrn £ oi*•it Church of Farmersburg, Ind.John Wisener was a patriotic • citizen, loyal to his country, prompt in his business obligations. a successful business man, providing well for his house-, hold.md Funeral services were held at ®ar his home September 6th, at 10:00 a. m. conducted by Rev. M. H. Reynolds and A. P-ily, Asbury. Interment at WestLawn.
