THE BIG PARADEThousands Witness Annual Business, *Men’s Carnival and Cheer Industrial PagentThousands of Oak Park residentsand many from neighboring communi-lt;ties turned out Friday night; to see the annual spectacular parade of theOak Park Business Men’s association. For two hours throngs in the streets and from hundreds of illuminated porches were entertained by every day business vehicles, gay for the nonce and transformed from the commonplace of workaday life into romantic floats suggesting the realms of fantasy.At times the honest horses, thrilled by the occasion, broke into a trot and the rumble of the industrial vehicles, the clash of trumpets and drums and the hurrahs of the popplace mingled in a grand climax of Oak Park day ofhorse show week.Mounted on seats, riding on the fantastic creations, or mounted on prancing steeds, the men and women who supply the needs of the community appeared in a new light to the people they serve, and were given a royal welcome.The parade was a brilliant successfrom every, standpoint, according .toall who expressed opinions, and every one, the spectators and those who went to so much expense to create the industrial pageant were pleased with the night of revelry.Jarries Harper, mounted on a prancing white steed, was grand marshal His staff was August Caron, E. E. Bailey, A. N. Wagner, W. H. Robinson and T. L. Bowman, president ofthe association, all mounted.While the public was witnessing the procession nine judges were concerned with their work of selecting from the scores of vehicles those which were the best in three classes.
