SEPTBMBER 9,1915AUTO ACCIDENT IN NAPOLICAR ROLLS DOWN 20-FOOT BANKParty of Nine Little Valley Young People Were Returning from Corn Roast—Two Young Ladies Seriously Injured - Others Also HurtNine Little Yalley young people had a narrow escape shortly -before midnight Saturday when a big touring car in which they W'ere riding plunged over an embankment. Of the merry party Miss Mary Jepson was the most seriously hurt, but her recovery is expect 2d.The young people were riding in an automobile belonging to Emmet Hart of Cleveland, Ohio, wrho is staying on his summer farm near this village. The car at the time was driven by Joy Hart, the owmer’s son, and the occu- J pants wrere returning from a corn roast. Something went wrong with ' the lights of the car about midnight and the driver was compelled to follow' behind another automobile driven by Philip Champlin in order to keep ! the road.The motor to the Hart car stalled and the pathfinders wrent on ahead. When the Hart car again started the Champlin cay was nearly out of sight. Young Kart wras unable to see the roadway and about three miles west of here near the Jean Case farm he steered the car right ahead and as the road curved he went over a 20-foot embankment, throwing the occupants into a muddy ditch, which prevented more serious injuries. The car was wrecked,Mary Jepson has a hip broken and face cuts and bruises. Lillian Harvey of Ithaca was bruised and had three ribs broken.Mi-ses Rena Merow, Minnie Kilbourn and I.ydia Langhuns and Raymond Carroll and Ilart Brown were but slightly injured.
