Many Citizens Are Still Har boring Dogs Without a License Contrary to the By-Law (From Friday’s Daily.) Many citizens, owners of dogs, still keep them without the necessary tag, and within the past few weeks many tagless dog have been missing. The police are determined to en force the law compelling every owner of a dog to take out a license, and in future if one of these canines are found tagless, then besides being placed in the pound, the owner of the dog will be summoned for violat ing the dog license by law. During the past ten days, many dogs have been coralled and placed in the pound, where after a certain time, if not claimed by their owners, they are destroyed. The old nuisance of dogs running about at will upon the streets, jump ing and barking at every object or person that catches their eye, is again becoming prevalent, and in most cases the police find that such dogs have no tag. The inference is that these dogs are not worth buying a tag for, and if such is the case then the dog should certainly be destroy ed. The police are determined to en force the by-law, and in future those who have not as yet taken out a lic ense would do well to do so at once, before they find themselves charged with harboring a dog without a lic ense, the penalty for which is ex tremely heavy.
