Madison, Sept. 1.—Letters received here state that the 26th, 37th, and 38thWisconsin regiment were all engaged in the recent fighting south of Petersburg on.' the Weldon railroad.(.'apt -ferman reports to the Governor the following casualties August 20th : Lieut. Ginty, Co. E, killed, shot through the head; Lieut. Russell, Co. F, wounded in shoulder, severe: three privates killed, names not known. The following officers are reported mission, supposed prisonerst and unhurt; Oapt. Charles T. Griffin, Co.A: Lt. C. L. Sholes. Co. A; Lieut. C. E. Bullard. Co. C: Lieut. George Albert Cox. Lieut. M. T. Mathews, Co. I: Lieut. Poster, Co. B; acting Se^eant Major C. P.
