George SchlarbGeorge William Schlarb, 71, 1610 Baseline Rd., Greenwich, passed away Aug. 26 at his home after a lengthy illness.He was born Oct. 25, 1920 in Kenmore and had lived in Greenwich since 1956. He was a retired supervisor from Midwest Industries in Willard. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion in Willard.He is survived by his former wife, Thelma Schlarb of Greenwich; three sons, Gary of Arcadia, Timothy of Willard and Billy of Greenwich; one daughter, Sherry Spraque of Mc-Comb; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Steve Schlarb of Solon, and Henry Slarb of Ashland, and two sisters, Elizabeth Walker of Olive and Helen Homung of Rome.He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Elizabeth Schlarb and by two brothers, Peter Slarb and Jacob Schlarb. officiating.Burial was at Edwards Grove Cemetery in Greenwich.Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Ashland County.George Shirey, Sr.George W. Shirey, Sr., 78, of Rt. 1, Staley, N.C. formerly of North Fairfield, died Aug. 28 in Country Forest Manor, Siler City, N.C.He was a native of Youngstown, a retired engineer with the BO Railroad, and an army veteran ofWorld War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #261 A.F. A.M. in North Fairfield, and a member of Moons Chapel Baptist Church, Rt. 4, Siler City.Private memorial graveside services were held Tuesday in Moons Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Carlton Hemphill officiating.He is survived by seven sons, George W. Shirey, Jr., of Bethel, Pa., David Shirey of New York, N.Y., Richard L. Shirey of Dade City, Fla., Danny M. Shirey of Skowhegan, Maine, James V. Shirey of Staley, Earl E. Shirey of Sarasota, Fla. and William A. Shirey of Siler City; one daughter, Patricia Torres of Siler City; three sisters, Virginia Springgate and Jean Matlock both of Hemet, Ca. and Mary Ellen Mollica of Menifee Valley, Ca; one brother, Lloyd E. Huston, 76, of Shiloh, died Aug. 31 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home.He was bom August 8, 1916 in Shelby, son of the late Marion and Ella (Guthrie) Huston. He lived most of his life in the Shelby, Delphi and Shiloh areas. He was a 1935 graduate of Shelby High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in France where he received The Purple Heart. He was employed by the United States Air Force in a civilian position. He was a member of the
